Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street. Fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. ~Coco Chanel
"The shimmer of a party dress, the glitz of flashing bulbs, the glamour of a night on the town— this holiday, it’s all about jet setting from party to party like a true movie star."
At least that’s what the good people at Michael Kors think. Now feast your eyes on the label’s Holiday 2012 ad campaign.
The Michael Kors show is, hands down, my absolute favorite of the season. I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s like he took everything I adore −stripes, saturated colors, clean lines, Op Art, geometric shapes, cut-outs, ’60s couture, minimalism− and rolled it into one collection.
“I wrapped a girlfriend of mine in hot pink gauze, a strapless pareo, a harem pant, flower behind the ear. I was wearing a piece of raw silk jersey wrapped into a diaper pant with a panama hat, a burlap jacket, and I took three luggage straps, wrapped them around my waist and my thigh, which was considerably smaller then, and we got to the door at Studio 54 and I’m sure they were like, ‘These kids are fabulous!’”
~ ~Michael Kors on trading his senior prom for a night at Studio 54
I know. New York Fashion Week was last week. But I’m still trying to process it all.
In the meantime…pretty and/or sparkly and/or shiny stuff from the shows.
This photo was taken while Becks was filming his wife’s runway show. Good-looking and sweet!
Check Marc’s Pilgrim shoes! Honestly, I think they look better on him than the models.
This Michael Kors gown is beyond beautiful. Beyond. I can’t afford it. I have nowhere to wear it. But I would kill to own it. For reals. To see it in all it’s glory, click here.
Models at three shows −Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, and Derek Lam− were rocking big hair. Luv it.
I think it would be fun to frame face charts. They’re like little works of art.
Jenna looking amazing (as always) at the J.Crew presentation. Those pants, those shoes− yes, please!

"Kill them with your chic!"
I like that!
I wonder if Michael comes up with the walking directions or if someone does that for him.

Women’s earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings are all featured in Michael Kors’ new jewelry line, which debuts this fall.
Kors first partnered with Fossil in 2004 to launch his watch line, and they’ve partnered again for the jewelry, which features chain details, mixed materials, and iconic hardware.
“I’ve always thought of accessories as the exclamation point of a woman’s outfit,” Kors says. (Great quote!)
Pieces in the collection range from $100 to $500, and will be available in select Michael Kors retail stores worldwide and at limited domestic and European wholesale partners.
I don’t generally wear a lot of jewelry, but when I do I like to wear big, bold pieces. It’s like this collection was made with me in mind. There isn’t one thing I wouldn’t like to own.
Take a sneak peek at the line in the video, complete with commentary from MK himself!
