I could listen to Jenna talk all day. Her voice is so lovely.

J.Crew Spring 2013

Ladies and Gentlemen: After much clicking and scrolling, squinting and head tilting, I’m ready to share (the rest of) my favorite looks from NYFW.

*Cue applause*

I considered writing posts similar to this one about each collection, but that felt too much like my day job, y’all. And I’m here to have fun. So I’ll just get right to the pretty pictures.

My top 3:

Geek chic. Print mixing. What’s not to luv?

I’m a sucker for an oversized floral. Jenna Lyons talks about this particular one here.

These pants are killer. That floral applique down the sides? Mel-ting.

My class photos were never this adorable.

This is one of 11 clever ads in J.Crew’s fall 2012 campaign featuring a mix of successful and fashionable influencers, like Julia Sarr-Jamois, fashion editor for Wonderland magazine (above); Le Figaro’s deputy editor Virginie Mouzatand; and David Karp, Tumblr’s founder and CEO.

Behind the Seams →

On J.Crew’s official Tumblr, 770 Behind The Line, Jenna Lyons explains the inspiration behind her fabulous Met Gala ensemble.

I knew I was right about the shocking pink skirt!

Over the weekend, I got a chance to watch “J.Crew and the Man Who Dressed America,” a CNBC documentary, and I really liked it.

The subject is J.Crew CEO Mickey Drexler. If you’re into fashion or retail or marketing or corporate rockstars, you should definitely check it out.

One tidbit that grabbed me: A longtime customer emailed a complaint to J.Crew (addressed to Drexler) about a jacket that was only offered in small sizes. And within 20 minutes of hitting “send,” Drexler called her personally.

And the jacket was available in more sizes the next season.

Pretty in Pink

I’ve just seen these photos of Jenna Lyons at this year’s Met Gala and, as usual, she looks fantastic.

Two points for incorporating one of Schiaparelli’s signature colors: shocking pink.
