I’m a huge “Scandal” fan and when I learned the actor playing Fitz Grant is named Tony Goldwyn, my first thought was “I wonder if he’s related to Liz Goldwyn.”
Bet that doesn’t happen to Tony every day.
Turns out Tony is Liz’s older, incredibly handsome brother. Since Tony’s an actor, you’d think I would’ve been more familiar with him. But Liz was a bit of an It Girl in the late ’90s and early 2000s, and I’d seen lots of photos of her in Vogue.
I always thought she was very striking −I loved her signature red lips− and the projects she was working on always sounded so fantastic. (Skip to the “Career” section of her Wikipedia entry and prepare to be impressed.)
Well, she’s still doing fantastic projects, the most recent being her collaboration with MAC cosmetics, which she talks about in the video.
For her latest film, “The Painted Lady,” she researched extreme 19th century makeup habits. In this letter she wrote to Into The Gloss, she shares what she learned. It’s a great read. Lots of interesting tidbits!
The lovely and talented Kerry Washington spoke tonight at the Democratic National Convention.
My favorite excerpt:
“You may not be thinking about politics, but politics is thinking about you. Today there are people trying to take away rights that our mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers fought for: our right to vote, our right to choose, affordable quality education, equal pay, access to health care. We the people can’t let that happen.”
